Coming to therapy does not mean you are broken or in need of “fixing.” Sometimes we can be overwhelmed by the stress and adversity we face in life and it can be helpful to seek professional support to navigate those difficulties more effectively.
What to expect. At the start of therapy there is an initial assessment period typically consisting of 3-4 sessions, in which we will work together to come to a joint understanding of the presenting problem and your unique needs and goals. Once it is confirmed that we are on the same page I will make recommendations on the appropriate course of treatment.
**Please note, If you are initiating therapy to address a specific traumatic event I will ask you not to speak about your trauma extensively in the first few sessions. While it is important for me to get a general understanding of your experience it is paramount that trust and safety are first established before discussing the specific details of your experience.

Whether you are looking to build specific skills, increase your sense of connection, or address a more significant rupture in your relationship, couple therapy can be beneficial. Even the healthiest relationships require active engagement, commitment, and effort.

Sometimes life’s challenges can lead us to feel helpless and alone, as though no one could possibly understand what we are experiencing. In my professional experience, few therapeutic interventions are more powerful than sitting in community with fellow survivors and recognizing that you are in fact not alone.
Although I am not currently facilitating any active groups I am hoping to offer group services beginning in January 2024.
